Ok, so threading is a really old hair removal technique that effectively eliminates hair by using a twist in the thread to grip the hair and pull it from the root. This method is excellent for removing even the tiniest hairs, making it ideal for those stubborn chin hairs! As a natural hair removal option—just using thread—it provides greater accuracy. Generally, you achieve a better shape with threading because there's more control compared to other options like waxing. Everyone's pain threshold varies, so it can be a bit nippy, similar to other hair removal methods, but overall it’s manageable. In fact, some people even find it enjoyable! Plus, it doesn't take long, which is definitely a bonus. Avoid tampering with your hairs between appointments; just trust the process as they grow back! The results from threading typically last around 3-6 weeks, depending on your hair growth and tolerance!

For effective hair removal, ensure your hair is at least 4-5mm long (3-4mm for armpits). I highly recommend this approach because the results can last up to 4 weeks. Personally, I prefer to manage my hair removal routine every 4-6 weeks since I don’t want to deal with too much maintenance. After years of waxing, my hair growth has become sparse and fine, so at full growth (week 6), it’s much less of an issue for me—great news, right?!
Let’s talk about strip waxing first (green). It’s great for larger areas, it’s quick, and it effectively removes hair from the root.
Now, for the hot wax (pink). This is excellent for targeting those tiny, coarse, stubborn hairs. I primarily use this on my underarms and bikini area, but sometimes I go over patches on my legs that the strip wax didn’t catch.
None of this is as painful as you might think. If you're nervous, take a painkiller 30 minutes beforehand to alleviate some discomfort. After 16 years in this job, I’ve grown pretty fast at it anyway 🤷🏽♀️.
As for aftercare post-hair removal, avoid touching the area! At least wait 24 hours before doing so. Also, steer clear of super hot showers during the first 24 hours, as your skin may be irritated.
Moisturize daily to keep your skin happy. Enjoy your hair removal journey, whether through waxing or threading!
